Our Goal

The goal of the Domestic Violence Outreach Project is to help women affected by their own or another's substance abuse find safety and sobriety.

The Domestic Violence Outreach Project provides outreach and education for women affected by domestic violence and chemical dependency in King County domestic violence confidential shelters and transitional housing agencies, and in women's chemical dependency treatment programs. In addition, the project provides technical assistance and training to providers in both settings.

There is no known causal link between addiction and domestic violence; however, they are often found in tandem. The presence of both increases severity of injuries and lethality rates.
