CLUB DRUGS AND PSYCHEDELICS

It is difficult to separate these two categories of recreational drugs because they are used in various ways. Club drugs are used in a communal fashion so that a group feels bonded, in a party mood, enjoying the music and activities of the gathering. Psychedelic drugs cause perceptual distortions (inaccurate ways of seeing things) including hallucinations, illusions and thought disorders or psychosis (inability to know reality). Any of the drugs can be used in groups or alone. It should be remembered that these drugs, like all street drugs, are seldom pure. Therefore it is difficult, if not impossible, to know what has been taken.
